In the hands of Ramon Maiden, Hendrik Goltzius's painting "Cadmos Killing the Dragon" is transformed into a completely different masterpiece. Indeed, the human characters represented in this scene are found, thanks to the artist, with tattoos. On the chest of Cadmos we can see a representation of the Virgin Mary, Ramon Maiden version of course. Instead of the face of the saint, we find a skull with a rather terrifying appearance. On the body, lying on the ground, it is a tattoo in the shape of a snake that the artist has cleverly drawn. What give to this image a whole other dimension.
